Sunday Runday

Just a little picture wrap up from our weekend long runs.

Cel & Ashley outside a fav
watering hole in Indy, Moe & Johnnies
(Ally behind the cam)

Lora in Chicago,
check out that skyline!

Me (Kim) at the 1 mile marker of my run.
All subsequent miles were spent thinking of grilled cheese.
Mental note,
put $2 in sock.

And just a friendly reminder...
The more training miles you run,
the more wings and things you should eat at 4th of July cookouts.

Run Like A Girl

Here is an ad that got it right!
I am a girl and I run like a girl!
"Why can't 'run like a girl' also mean win the race?!"

Lady Runners are Awesome...

And Alysia Montano is proof. While some may disagree with her decision to train at the elite level while pregnant, I think she solidifies my theory that women are the strongest animals on earth. I mean, one month after running 800 meters in 2 minutes and 32 seconds she's going to push another human being out of herself. In the words of scantily clad philosopher Kati Perry, "Roar."

Have a great weekend, y'all.

What If Everybody Ran?

Soon we'll post some About Us blogs
so you can get to know the fine ladies behind the blog.
Because we know you're dying to find out.
hahahaha.

But more importantly than who we are...

Muzino recently posed a pretty rad question followed by a study.

Naysayers, stop your naysaying and just read it.
Really.
Click the link and see what they found.

Aside from just more victory beers,
(yes, we all love those)
they've found some attention grabbing stats.

20% Stonger Memory?
$143B less in Heath Care Costs?
Sign us up. Sign everybody up.

Along with that study though,
Mizuno started an AMAZING program called

So, no, this isn't just a cheery post
about why you should run for yourself,
but what running can do for others.

It couldn't be more simple.

From their site:
Mizuno believes running has the power to transform the world — one person at a time. That's why we’re donating $1 for every mile run with the Mizuno Baton to Back on My Feet, a nonprofit organization that helps those experiencing homelessness turn their lives around through running. What if everybody ran? Thank you for being part of the answer.

Run for yourself.
Run for others.
Pass the baton.

Sorry Not Sorry: Another Blog about Running

So here we are.
A slew of wimmens who enjoy drinking drinks &
eating delicious greasy foods...
who also have found ourselves to be marathoners
without really meaning to be.

Blah.Blah.Blah.

Just kidding.
Sort of.

Waking up at 4am for a 15 miler before work?
Crossing a finish line and feeling like you can conquer anything?
Toe nails falling off during a pedicure and scaring the kind lady scrubbing your blister-ridden feet?
Sobbing during a long run because you saw a dragonfly and it reminded you of your grandmother?

Running has a way of sneaking in and turning you
into someone you wouldn't recognize 6 months ago.

Between the highest of the highs and the ridiculousness of the lows,
this blog will chronicle all of these things.

Welcome!

And because many of us are training in different cities,
each weekend we'll post pics from our long runs.

Ally and Ashley in Mackinac Island

Lora in Chicago

Kim in Philly

Cheers to the first couple of weeks of training!
